Wilderness
Connection does not offer bison hunts. However, since we are lifetime
residents of Montana we know a lot of bison producers in the state.
We can arrange for you a guaranteed buffalo (bison) hunt.

Our conservation (meat) buffalo hunts are usually done on smaller buffalo
ranches, most of them within an hour of our base of operations. This
is a great opportunity for those that book other hunts with us to take
home a buffalo too. Hunt prices vary according to the hunting experience
you desire and the age of animal you wish to shoot.

I don't consider this a true hunt; but there aren't many other opportunities
in the United States to harvest bison. The meat is excellent.

Most of our bison hunts are done by clients who have booked a combination
elk/deer hunt with us.

Our most popular conservation buffalo hunt allows you to harvest
a yearling or two-year-old buffalo. Our prices vary according
to market prices, but generally are $600-1000 per head.

| Hunt Length |

a couple hours, if done in conjunction with one of our general
season rifle hunts. This is usually done on the last day of your
combination elk/deer hunt, just before you are scheduled to leave.
If you desire, we can arrange a hunt for you on the Sunday before
your elk/deer hunt so your bison is cut and wrapped for you before
you leave.

| Licensing |
 |
You do not need to purchase a license to hunt buffalo in Montana.

| What We Provide |
- The type of services we provide depends upon your needs and
the amount of money you are willing to spend on your hunt. We
can provide transportation to a meat processor, trophy preparation,
and transport to a taxidermist.
- We do not typically provide transportation, food or lodging
unless you have also booked one of our general season rifle
hunts.
- An unforgettable experience in the great Montana outdoors.
|
| You must pay for the meat processing. In general,
a two year old bull will provide you with 375 lbs of meat "on
the hook". On average it costs $.50/lb to process this meat. |

| An Interesting Bonus |
| |
Since most "harvest" of these animals is
done at close range, you don't need to shoot them with a long-range
rifle. Lever-action rifles, black-powder, muzzleloaders, or pistols
are all popular weapons of choice. |
 |
| Note |
 |
This is a guaranteed "hunt".
